Urban Skin Rx®, an unparalleled line of clinical skincare products, was developed by Rachel Roff, a highly successful Licensed Aesthetician. In 2006 Rachel opened her own medical spa, in Charlotte, NC, and it quickly became the leading medical spa and laser center for treating melanin-rich skin. Through her experience working on clients, Rachel learned which ingredients and formulations most effectively improved common conditions in skin of color, including hyperpigmentation and melasma. Recognizing the wide unmet need for products to address the concerns of diverse skin tones, Rachel founded Urban Skin Rx® in 2010. Urban Skin Rx® and Pro Strength™ collections include effective, targeted solutions with scientifically researched ingredients to help reduce the appearance of dark marks and uneven skin tone. The brand also offers additional products that smooth texture, reduce the visible signs of aging and fight acne and dry skin. Urban Skin Rx® is sold online at urbanskinrx.com and at Target, Ulta, Walmart, Amazon, CVS, QVC.com, HSN.com and Dermstore.com. In 2020, the brand launched its first international distribution in Nigeria.

Rachel Roff grew up in Northern California, where at an early age she experienced intense bullying due to a large nevus mole on her face and struggles with acne. While getting a college degree was important, her personal experiences fueled her passion to become a medical aesthetician and open her own medical spa. She attended University of San Francisco and later moved to Charlotte, NC where she attended University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed her BA in Sociology. One week after finishing college, she attended the National Aesthetics Institute and received her license. After that she entered the industry and began working at a medical spa as a laser technician.

Dr. David Henderson is the Founding Medical Director at Urban Skin Rx®. He is currently a hospitalist at Presbyterian Hospital-Charlotte.

Dr. David Henderson is the Founding Medical Director at Urban Skin Rx®. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1988 from the University of California. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1994. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Richland Memorial Hospital and the Dorn V.A. Hospital in Columbia, SC. During his final year, he served as Chief Resident. He has served as Medical Director for a national Laser Hair removal center here in Charlotte. He is currently a hospitalist at Presbyterian Hospital-Charlotte.

Deisha Barnett
UPS, Strategic Communications
Deisha is Vice President of Strategic Communications at UPS where she leads storytelling targeting UPS’s workforce and external stakeholders around the globe guiding communications strategy focused on the company’s commitment to its people and its approach to environmental, social and governance issues.
Previously, Deisha led the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s brand communications team and was the organization’s first head of Diversity and Inclusion. Deisha has also held leadership positions at Walmart, and her nonprofit service includes: the executive advisory council for the University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications, the board of the Atlanta Press Club, the board for the Grady Health Foundation, and the board for Next Gen Men and Women.
Deisha is a proud wife, mom and alumna of Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a concentration in public relations.
Steven Skoler

Steven Skoler has over 30 years of experience working as an investor/operating manager with growing middle market companies. Current and former Board memberships include Accessories Marketing, Inc., Ballet Jewels LLC, Box Services, LLC, CNC Global Limited, Event Photography Group, Inc., Hopkins Manufacturing Corp., Kenlin Pet Supply, Inc., Madan Plastics, Inc., Salon Lofts Group LLC, and Woodstream Corporation. Mr. Skoler has also served as the President of Madan Plastics and a Vice President of Kenlin Pet Supply. Mr. Skoler holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from The Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Cheryl Moss

Cheryl Moss has over 19 years of investor experience and has been a member of the Friend Skoler & Co. team since 2006. Ms. Moss currently serves as an Observer on the Board of Directors of Hex Performance. Prior to joining Friend Skoler & Co., Ms. Moss was a Senior Analyst at Prudential Private Capital, where she originated and managed a portfolio of private placement fixed income investments. Ms. Moss earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
