What are the key ingredients and benefits of this product?
Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment targets hyperpigmentation with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, 5% Glycolic Acid, 2% Kojic Acid and 1% Bakuchiol to exfoliate and fade the look of discoloration. It helps improve the appearance of stubborn dark marks, smooths rough texture and visibly reduces the signs of aging skin.
What is the difference between Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment and Even Tone Night Treatment?
While both Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment and Even Tone Night Treatment improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation and rough texture, this new advanced formula does not contain retinol or hydroquinone. Without these two ingredients, Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment is gentle enough to be used up to two times per day and is well suited to address uneven skin tone while pregnant or nursing*.
How often can I use Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment?
This gentle yet powerful daily treatment can be used up to two times a day. You should begin by using once a day for the first two weeks to see how your skin tolerates the formula before increasing use to twice a day.
Why doesn’t the Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment formula have Hydroquinone?
Products with hydroquinone cannot be used 365 days a year, and we wanted a product that our customers can use all year round. Hydroquinone isn’t suitable for pregnant or nursing women, and as a brand that prides itself on inclusivity, we chose to remove the ingredient.
Can I use Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment with other treatments?
Yes, this formula can be used in conjunction with other Urban Skin Rx® products.
Will I need to take a 60 to 90 day break after using the Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment formula, as is recommended when using Even Tone Night Treatment?
No, this new advanced formula does not contain hydroquinone, so there is no need to stop using this product unless you experience an adverse reaction. If itching or a rash occurs due to the use of this or any product, it is recommended to discontinue use as you may be allergic to one or more ingredients.
Do I put Advanced Even Tone Day & Night Treatment on my full face or just the dark spots?
This product should be used on the entire face to avoid blotches from spot treatments; however, if marks are especially stubborn, you can alternate between spot treating and applying to the full face.
Do I have to apply HyperCorrect™ Intense Fading Cream before cleaning my skin?
Yes. Apply this treatment to your skin before cleansing or washing off your makeup (yes, you can apply over makeup). Alternatively, you can wait one hour after cleansing and apply to dry skin. Always rinse off with your favorite gentle cleanser and follow with a moisturizer, and if used in the daytime, apply an SPF 30 or higher.
Why is it recommended to apply HyperCorrect™ Intense Fading Cream to my face before cleansing or washing off my makeup?
Applying this formula with Cysteamine to freshly cleansed skin or damp/wet skin can increase skin sensitivity.
Is HyperCorrect™ Intense Fading Cream suited for sensitive skin?
For sensitive skin, we recommend mixing HyperCorrect™ with a moisturizer before application to dilute the strength and leave on skin for 5 minutes, gradually increasing to 15 minutes as tolerated. If no irritation occurs after a few weeks, we recommend applying without mixing with moisturizer.
How do I best incorporate HyperCorrect™ Intense Fading Cream into my current regimen?
This product can be used once a day before cleansing (preferably in the evening). We recommend using this product as part of a regimen that includes cleansers, moisturizers, SPFs and serums that contain non-irritating ingredients, including Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides and Licorice Root. To avoid irritation if you have sensitive skin, we do not recommend using HyperCorrect™ while also using physical exfoliants (scrubs or polishes) or products that contain active levels of Retinol/Vitamin A or products with AHAs/BHAs (eg. Glycolic Acid) with concentrations above 3% for the first week. If no irritation occurs, you can introduce these ingredients back into your regimen along with Cysteamine. In the morning, follow with a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
Can I use HyperCorrect™ on the body?
Yes. This product can be used on the body and left on for up to one hour. However, for use on sensitive areas such as lips, underarms and bikini lines, we recommend mixing HyperCorrect™ 50/50 with a moisturizer and leaving it on for only 5 minutes for your first 3 uses and then increasing to 15 minutes if tolerated.
Can I leave HyperCorrect™ Intense Fading Cream on my skin for more than 20 minutes?
We strongly recommend that you follow usage instructions and only leave on the skin for up to 20 minutes. It is normal to experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during this time.
Why does HyperCorrect™ Intense Fading Cream have such a strong odor?
HyperCorrect™ contains Cysteamine, an antioxidant that naturally has a strong odor most comparable to Sulfur. We have chosen not to mask this odor with artificial fragrance. The smell of this product does not affect the results.
Are your products tested on animals?
No. We take pride in being a cruelty-free company!
