So once you schedule your appointment, what’s next? We asked glowgiver™ aesthetician Ivey Rogers for tips on how to prepare and what to expect during and after so you can get the most out of your virtual consultation.

How to Prepare For Your Virtual Consultation

A great first step is to take our skin quiz. “Even if you’ve taken it before, take it again and answer the questions as honestly as possible,” says Ivey. This will help you focus on your latest skincare needs. After the quiz, review the recommended products. Ivey suggests reading how to use them and also look at the product reviews. “If someone has had a less than great experience with the product, we will be able to discuss ways to avoid unwanted results.” Be sure to write down any questions you have about recommended products or other products you are using.

Remember to block out 30 minutes in your day for the consultation. “This is your time, a true self care experience so you should be in the moment,” says Ivey. Have some water or a cup of tea with you. If possible, a clean, makeup-free face is helpful so your aesthetician can see your skin in its natural state. If you’re not able to be without makeup, have photos of your face freshly cleansed.

Some housekeeping tips! Have a strong internet connection, turn off your ringer and notifications and don’t use a filter.

And of course, be sure to have a pen and paper handy so you can take notes!

What to Expect During Your Virtual Consultation

During your consultation, you will have 30 minutes to engage and interact with a skincare professional--take advantage of every minute! Be open and honest, this is a no judgement zone! “We are here to help you,” says Ivey. Ask the questions you gathered about products, as well as any skin conditions or concerns you have been experiencing.

Next Steps After Your Virtual Consultation

After your virtual consultation, the care and attention from your glowgiver™ aesthetician doesn’t stop there! You will receive a follow up email with a copy of the recommended am and pm regimens as well as the products that were discussed with an easy link to your cart to make a purchase. After 45 days, your aesthetician will also follow up to see how you’re progressing and if you need to make any adjustments to your regimen. “We are your personal online aesthetician,” adds Ivey.
