Honey, if you haven’t been making self-care a priority during quarantine, now’s the time to get started! September is Self-Care Awareness Month. This month exists to remind us of the extraordinary mental, emotional and physical importance of self-care.
All the skincare products you’ve ignored, the “me time” you’ve pushed to the side and the staycations you haven’t planned (even in the comfort of your own home) are waiting for you to make a date with yourself, all you have to do is book the reservation.

Daily self-care tips for September
We’re a few days into September at this point, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still participate in a Self-Care September Challenge for the rest of the month. Here are a few self-care ideas to incorporate into your daily routine:
Read a book even if it’s only a chapter. Take a moment to shift your focus from work on your lunch break or while lying by the pool. We may not be able to travel right now, but if you pick the right book, you can still escape for a bit.
Perfect your skincare routine. Who would we be if we didn’t beg you to make time for your skin? When you look good, you feel good. Plan a spa day at home, pull out all of your favorite skincare products and don’t stop until you’ve established a full regimen (complete with SPF) that you can complete every day.
Speak words of kindness and affirmation. When’s the last time you’ve looked in the mirror and told yourself something you love about yourself? There is power in affirming and manifesting in yourself and speaking it to yourself.
Take a nap. Pretend you’re in Kindergarten again. All those naps you took for granted. It’s okay to rest your eyes a bit during the middle of the day if you need to recharge.
Indulge a little. Whether you’re more on the savory side of things or you have a sweet tooth, make your favorite snack or meal. Self-care includes taking a few moments to indulge in the tasty things you love.
Watch a movie or show. One of the best ways to enjoy sitting still is by watching your favorite romcom or binge watching a show simply because you can! Now make the time to do it.
